I've known the sweet granparents of these adorable girls for a long time! I was so pleased when they asked me to take their pictures with their grandaughters over the holidays. They have a wonderful tradition of having a portrait with each set of grandchildren. The little two girls were so sweet and the big girl was a crack up!!  These were taken at the Virginia Tech Duck Pond, New Years Eve Day!

I loved how obvious it was that these girls love their Grandaddy and Grandlady!!

Racing to the New Year

I forgot to mention yesterday that my incredibly romantic date last night, the one where we were glad to just have some peace and quiet even if it included Crocs at Big Lots, actually began with an argument about potty time. I'm not talking about potty training or a problem with one of our kiddos, I was nagging the Mister about the fact that he spends a good half hour in the bathroom every morning and at any other point in the day that his little heart desires. I, on the other hand, am lucky if I get to go to the bathroom alone much less for more that 30 seconds. Has a man ever had to do his business with a baby sitting on his lap or pulling up on his knees? I didn't think so. The times that I do get to "go" alone, without fail- some kid is knocking on the door. Often, it is just to say "I love you mom!" or "Milo is knocking for you" - mind you, Milo is seven months old! Oh well. I guess the Mister was hearing what I was saying, that sometimes a mom just needs to catch a break!! I don't need a man in a sexy car...

I mean, it's hot enough when I'm the driving this car, with three fifths of our kids, looking like the clown car from the circus where the kids just keep rolling out as I pull up to the school drop off...


I need Mrs. Doubtfire!! A babysitter, a cook, and a cleaner!!

And that's what I got today... Thank you for letting me sleep in while you drove the baby around for his nap, cleaned the kitchen, made me a scrumptious dinner complete with a homemade pie! I don't know why men don't get that that will get me to "hold your hand" or "scratch your back" faster than anything else will!!

You asked me to marry you on this night three years ago, and what a ride it has been. I hope 2012 will bring us many more memories and tons more smiles.                                                                                   

{Friday Live}

The weather this winter has been amazing... in the 50's and 60's.  I took the kids to the park for the second time this Christmas break today. To play on the playground, not to go sledding in the snow! I wouldn't care if we never got snow and it stayed this way...
You will plainly see that Milo is still rockin' his Christmas jammies. I figure it's allowed at least through New Years, and well, as long as they fit!

In other news, Doug and I were able to steal away for  our usual date night Mexican dinner, then it was onto Big Lots for the realization that we are totally not just old, but totally uncool and unromantic. But hey- they had Crocs! Real live, real brand Crocs and I scored a pair of the cute wedge flippy shoes that I've been eyeing for a couple of years for fifteen bucks!! And then I discovered they had the Jillian Michaels workout DVD's for $5 ... compared to the ten bucks I threw down at Target for one. I got robbed. I also got an iPad holder to put on the back of the car seat for Milo to watch Yo Gaba Gaba and Mickey Mouse until his little heart's content. Awww... today was a success.

Milo turned 7 months on Dec. 4. He is very active, crawling all over the place. He is the smiliest little baby ever and brightens everyone's day. Sometimes I am frustrated that more often than not, my hair is never fixed for the day and I've never gotten out of my sweats. But I know this stage will not last forever, and before I know it, he will be asking me about dating and college.

Milo, I love you infinity. You are a sweet, sweet blessing to us all!!

And lastly... Milo says ENOUGH ALREADY MAMA!!
